These large platters are slab built and hand shaped to give them them a freeform organic natural shape. They are inspired by the freeform water worn rocks and shapes found in mountain streams. I love the random nature of the shaping process of water and shape each platter to enhance the natural character of the shape after it is made in the rough form.
This "Sandstone Crystalline GLaze" platter has multiple layers of crystalline glaze with the predominant glaze being my "Ironstone" highlighted by "Pearl White"edges and a mixture of gold coloured crystals. Looks great on any dining room table or coffee table.
