This vase is just a fun vase but carries the crystalline glaze well. It was hand thrown on the potters wheel and the continual spiral ring was impressed with a wooden tool while pushing out from the inside of the pot.
It is layer glazed with two crystalline glazes which give the contrast between the underlying black and covering dark green glaze. The "Rainforest Green" Crystalline glaze breaks beautifully over the ridges and the crystals are highlighted by growth rings and dark shadows with bands of secondary crystals which look like misting rain.
